Brass Lock Nuts

About Brass Lock Nuts-Precision Fasteners for Industrial Applications

We are one of the top manufacturers and suppliers from India of various Brass lock nuts and Brass hex nuts, square nuts. Brass lock nuts are durable, corrosion-resistant fasteners designed to provide secure tightening in vibration-prone environments. These nuts are widely used in electrical, plumbing, marine, and industrial applications due to their excellent conductivity, non-magnetic properties, and resistance to rust and corrosion.

We specialize in high-precision brass lock nuts, available in various thread types, sizes, and finishes, conforming to DIN, ASTM, and BS standards.

Brass Material Grades Used in Lock Nuts

Brass lock nuts are manufactured using different grades of brass alloys, each offering unique benefits in terms of strength, machinability, and corrosion resistance.

GradeCompositionPropertiesStandards
C36000 (Free Machining Brass) 60% Cu, 36% Zn, 3% Pb High machinability, moderate strength ASTM B16, BS CZ121, DIN 2.0401
C37700 (Forging Brass) 58-61% Cu, 35-41% Zn, 1-2% Pb High strength, excellent hot workability ASTM B124, BS CZ122, DIN 2.0380
C46400 (Naval Brass) 60% Cu, 39% Zn, 0.75% Sn Superior corrosion resistance, marine applications ASTM B21, BS CZ130, DIN 2.0580
C69300 (Lead-Free Silicon Brass) 76-82% Cu, 15-20% Zn, 2-4% Si High strength, lead-free, eco-friendly ASTM B371, DIN CuZn21Si3P
C27200 (Yellow Brass) 62-65% Cu, 34-37% Zn Good corrosion resistance, economical ASTM B135, DIN 2.0321

Manufacturing Process – Cold Forged or CNC Machined Brass Lock Nuts

We manufacture brass lock nuts using two primary production methods, ensuring high precision and durability.

1. Cold Forging

  • Process:
    1. Brass wire or rods are cut into measured lengths.
    2. The metal is cold forged (compressed at room temperature) into the desired shape.
    3. Threads are created using thread rolling machines.
    4. The nut is deburred, cleaned, and finished as per requirements.
  • Advantages:
    • High strength due to grain flow retention.
    • Cost-effective for bulk production.
    • Smooth surface finish with minimal material waste.

2. CNC Machining from Bar Stock

  • Process:
    1. Solid brass rods are cut into precise nut shapes using CNC lathes.
    2. Threads are cut using high-precision threading tools.
    3. The nuts undergo deburring, polishing, and finishing to meet required tolerances.
  • Advantages:
    • High dimensional accuracy and tight tolerances.
    • Customization possible (special thread types, sizes, and features).
    • Ideal for small to medium production batches.

✔ Custom manufacturing available for special applications.

Thread Types Available in Brass Lock Nuts

We manufacture brass lock nuts with various thread types to meet global engineering and fastening standards.
