Transformer Spade terminals

Bronze spades, also known as Bronze Spade Terminals or Spade Terminal Connectors for Transformers, are a type of electrical connector used for making connections between components or conductors in transformers or power distribution systems. These spade connectors are often used to establish secure and reliable electrical connections between wires, conductors, and terminals. Our bronze foundry in India casts and CNC machines Bronze Spades and Terminals.

Uses:

  1. Stud to Bus Bar Connections: Bronze Spade Terminal connectors are used for stud to single or multiple bus bar vertical takeoffs and connections.

Features:

  1. Crafted from high copper content alloy and tin-plated.
  2. Suitable for use with aluminum or copper compression or bolted type lugs.
  3. Spade terminal lug mounting holes are 9/16” in diameter with 1-3/4” NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) spacing.
  4. Can be supplied with studs bonded to the terminal.
  5. Available in CDA 833, CDA 836, CDA 954, CDA 955, CDA 956 grades, or any special alloy needed.
  6. May be supplied with stud locking set screws.

Material Properties:

  1. Bronze: A metal alloy known for its electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance, and durability.

Applications:

  1. Terminating Conductors: Used to terminate the ends of power cables or conductors. Crimped or soldered onto wires to create a solid electrical connection that can be easily attached to terminals or other components.
  2. Transformer Connections: Connects the wiring of transformers to distribution lines or other parts of the power grid, ensuring efficient and secure connections for power transmission.
  3. Switchgear and Circuit Breakers: Used within switchgear and circuit breaker panels to connect control wires, signaling wires, or power conductors to different components within the system.
  4. Grounding Applications: Helps establish reliable connections between grounding conductors and equipment.

Material Alternatives: While bronze is a suitable material for certain electrical applications due to its conductivity and durability, modern electrical connectors might also be made from other materials such as copper, aluminum, or various alloys.
